Collaborating with government, corporate social partners and foundations to make an impact.
Youth unemployment is the most critical socio-economic crisis facing South Africa. With 55%* (or 6 million) of youth out of work, the triple threat of unemployment, inequality and poverty is real. Work transforms societies, bringing economic empowerment, skills development, dignity and purpose.
Our goal is creating an efficient labour market exchange that will shift the current market dynamics. We are confident that within ten years we will achieve the critical mass needed to create an efficient and economically viable entry-level ecosystem, with tangible benefits to this under-served population, business and society.
We measure success based on financial metrics as well as social metrics, and in this way, are part of building our country, one job at a time.
Lulaway partners with organisations in the corporate, public and non-profit sectors.
“Through their partnership, Lulaway has streamlined our on-boarding process, and has enabled us to allow more drivers to join the Uber network. Their work-readiness training helps our drivers improve their customer service and communication skills,
and grow their earning ability. We are impressed by Lulaway’s willingness to go the extra mile and their innovative and strategic approach.”
We would like to confirm that the services provided by Lulaway were to our satisfaction. They have assisted us in digitising our JOBS database and facilitating placements for unemployed youth throughout the country. We appreciate their willingness to go the extra mile, their attention to detail and the friendly and professional disposition of their team.
In August 2015 the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in collaboration with Lulaway launched the Lulaway Job Retention Pilot Project. A key factor in selecting Lulaway as our lead organisation for this project was their track record demonstrating their ability to navigate operational complexity and successfully execute in a tough operating environment. I believe that Lulaway’s competitive advantage in this sector is its entrepreneurial ethos which enables Lulaway to work with both government and the private sector.
